Confirmations of registered holdings

CDS can only provide a confirmation for the part of the issue that is held in CDS Clearing's nominee name (CDS & CO.). The confirmation authenticates the quantity and/or specific details of the security, as well as any payments received by CDS & CO. as the registered holder.

Issuers that require an audit confirmation must request it from their official agent of record. Issuers without an official agent of record may:

  • Elect to enter into a RPA agreement with CDS. Issuers with an RPA agreement are entitled to receive audit confirmations as part of the RPA service, or
  • Request a Confirmation of Registered Holdings from CDS.
    To request a confirmation of registered holdings, issuers or their agents must provide CDS with a request letter created on company letterhead (download a sample letter), and a completed Confirmation of Registered Holdings form (PDF). Send both of these documents to CDS by email at cdscustomersupport@tmx.com.
